  • Under 3 GPM sustained: You need a storage tank and booster pump in the treatment design. Period.
  • 3–6 GPM: Workable for a small household, but treatment equipment must be rated at or below your actual flow; no overshooting the pressure tank drawdown.
  • 6–12 GPM: Standard residential range; proper sizing is straightforward with a professional assessment.
  • 12+ GPM: Larger homes or irrigation wells; good margin, but high iron loads can still cause problems at the treatment stage.
