The 60-Second Test You Should Do Right Now
Fill a clear glass with water straight from the cold tap and set it on the counter. Watch it for 60–90 seconds.

Cause #1: Dissolved Air (The Harmless One)

The moment that pressurized water hits atmospheric pressure — i.e., your glass — those dissolved gases come out of solution as millions of tiny bubbles.

Cause #5: Bacterial Contamination (Test First, Worry Second)
This is the one people fear most, and while it's the least common cause of simple cloudiness, it's the one that demands a lab test rather than a visual diagnosis. Coliform bacteria and other biological contaminants can cause turbidity, sometimes accompanied by a musty or earthy odor.
