Whole-House Filter Killed Your Water Pressure? Here's Why It Happens on Marion County Wells

1. Undersized Housing

A standard 10-inch × 2.5-inch housing is fine for a single sink. Whole-house on a Marion County well? It's a bottleneck from day one. The 4.5-inch × 20-inch "Big Blue" format has roughly four times the flow area and holds cartridges with much more surface area — meaning they load up slower and drop pressure less even when partially fouled.

2. Wrong Micron Rating — Going Too Fine Too Fast

3. Iron Loading the Media

4. A Well Pump That Was Already Borderline

What Good Looks Like: Realistic Pressure Numbers
